Regina, December 14th, 2007 - The Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise (ACF) and the Coalition for the Promotion of French Language and Francophone Culture in Saskatchewan is proud to announce that the 2008 edition of Francofièvre will take place on May 8th at Saskatoon's Prairieland Park. Francofièvre is one of the province's largest youth gatherings, bringing together almost 2,000 teens. For its third edition, Francofièvre has a number of surprises in store, including increased participation and greater visibility on the part of Saskatchewan's French speaking youth. As was the case last year, a partnership with French for the Future will allow students from grades 11 and 12 to participate in its Forum. A morning activity for students from grades 7 to 10 is also planned, as well as an evening performance in Saskatoon.
The registration period for this event will be announced in the province's Francophone and immersion schools in January 2008. At that time further information on program - and contests! - will also be made available. The web site www.francofievre.sk.ca will then be full of useful information.
The ACF initiated and is leading the Coalition for the Promotion of French Language and Francophone Culture in Saskatchewan, whose mission is to promote the French fact in Saskatchewan as a contemporary, dynamic and inclusive reality. Francofièvre is an annual event for students from grade 7 to grade 12.
